Festival Terms & Conditions
By purchasing a ticket to the Jigsaw Climbing & Movement Festival, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before completing your purchase.
1. Assumption of Risk
You understand that rock climbing and outdoor adventure activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, equipment failure, rockfall, unpredictable terrain, weather conditions, and physical exertion. You acknowledge that participation may result in injury, illness, property damage, or in rare circumstances, death. By purchasing a ticket, you voluntarily choose to participate in the Jigsaw Climbing & Movement Festival and fully accept these risks.
2. Release of Liability
You agree to release, waive, and discharge Jigsaw Climbing, its owners, employees, instructors, guides, and representatives from any and all liability for injury, loss, or damage that may occur during the festival. This includes injuries arising from climbing activities, transportation to climbing areas, use of climbing equipment, or participation in any activities organised as part of the festival.
3. Equipment Responsibility
Equipment provided at the festival must be used correctly and responsibly. You agree to follow all safety instructions given by festival organisers and instructors at all times. If using personal equipment, you take full responsibility for its condition and suitability.
4. Weather & Environmental Conditions
Outdoor climbing is subject to weather and environmental conditions beyond our control. You acknowledge that rain, wind, or other factors may make climbing unsafe or impossible on certain days. In such cases, organisers will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative activities, but climbing cannot be guaranteed. No refund will be issued on this basis.
5. Non-Refundable Payment
Your ticket payment is non-refundable under all circumstances, including cancellation due to weather, personal scheduling changes, or inability to participate. Payment covers planning, logistics, staffing, accommodation, and all operational costs associated with the festival.
6. Health & Medical Responsibility
You confirm that you are physically capable of participating in climbing and outdoor activities. You agree to inform the festival organisers upon arrival of any medical conditions, injuries, or allergies that may affect your participation. In the event of a medical emergency, you authorise festival organisers to seek medical assistance on your behalf.
7. Alcohol & Substance Policy
The Jigsaw Climbing & Movement Festival is a strictly alcohol-free and substance-free event. The possession or consumption of alcohol, illegal substances, or any intoxicants is not permitted anywhere within the festival grounds or campsite at any time. Any participant found to be in possession of or under the influence of alcohol or substances will be removed from the festival immediately and without refund.
8. Personal Belongings & Camping
The Jigsaw Climbing & Movement Festival is a 3-day outdoor camping event. You are responsible for the safekeeping of all personal belongings throughout the festival, including but not limited to camping equipment, clothing, electronics, valuables, and climbing gear. Jigsaw Climbing accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal property at any point during the festival — including within the campsite, at climbing areas, or during any organised activity. You are strongly advised not to bring valuables that are not essential to your stay. Jigsaw Climbing does not provide secure storage facilities for personal items.
9. Photography & Media
You grant Jigsaw Climbing permission to use photographs and video footage taken during the festival — including footage in which you may appear — for promotional, marketing, and social media purposes.
10. Code of Conduct
You agree to conduct yourself in a manner that is safe, respectful, and considerate of all participants, staff, and the natural environment. Specifically, you agree to:
- Follow all instructions from Jigsaw Climbing instructors and festival leaders regarding safety, equipment, and movement at climbing areas
- Treat fellow participants, staff, and local community members with respect — harassment, aggression, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated
- Respect the natural environment: pack out all waste, avoid disturbing local wildlife and vegetation, and follow Leave No Trace principles
Failure to comply with this code of conduct may result in removal from activities or from the festival entirely, without refund.
